Fremont might not be frequented by tourist quite often but there are sure some great attractions to check out. Believe it or not, it is the first community of California which started shooting and production of movies. However, with time, other areas became more famous. It is just 7 miles drive from San Francisco. When you visit Fremont, here are a few things that you can do.
Coyote Hills Regional Park
It is on the San Francisco’s southern shore and had been established in 1967. The park covers an area of 978 acres. Climb up on the low hills to get a great view of the ocean, the bay, and the entire San Francisco. There are patches of wetland intersecting the hills. There are hiking and horseback riding trails. However, I went for a bike ride. Be careful as there are some narrow trails which are limited to hiking.
It covers an area of 450 acres. As the name suggests it is situated at the heart of the city. At the center of the park, you will find a Lake Elizabeth and is surrounded by Mission Peak Hills. The park has space where you can have a picnic with your family. I also had a great time at Aqua Adventure Park. I rented a boat to take a tour. It is a popular spot for gatherings and family parties.
Arden wood Historic Farm
A farmhouse had been built by George Washington Patterson in 1857. The house had been remodeled by his son and thereafter, added several features. Inside the estate, I found large forest along with a working farm. Apart from this, there is also the Railroad Museum where there is an exhibit of a horse-drawn railway and an excellent collection of railroad cars.
